It offered just the right amount of weekly structure to incentivize me to learn the weekly material and complete the homework, and at the same time, provided just enough cover for me to fend off competing demands (like spousal demands to do handiwork around the house) to free up time to be able to focus on the long-term benefit of learning Java.
