    How this course got started

    This course was initially started to teach J2EE Programming, which is highly sought-after expertise by  employers,  to unemployed software engineers in New England area in collaboration with New England Java Users Group (NEJUG).  And the following is the messsage that was sent out when we started the 1st session which got started December 16th, 2002 and ended on April 14th, 2003.  (By the way, this course is now open to both employed and unemployed folks.)

    Even though this course is being offered free, it is my strong intention to make sure the quality of this course is every bit equal to the one being offered as a formal college graduate course.  To that end, I am asking the following commitment from potential attendees.
