The goal of this hands-on lab is to get you exposed to the Sun IDM environment for the first time in which you will learn your first login using the differents idm interfaces.


Expected duration: 30 minutes (excluding homework)


Prerequisites

This hands-on lab assumes you have minimum programming experience.

Exercise 0: Execute,Download and Configure Reports

             
   
       The goal of this exercise is to let you experience about how to execute a report in IDM.


  1. Execute Reports
  2. Download Report
  3. Configure Email Reports

(0.1) Executing Reports

 

In this step, you are going to login into the The Identity Manager Administrator interface and execute  some reports.

    1. Open a Web browser and type the following address into the address bar:
    1. Enter the User ID and Password

    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page
    2. Scroll down the page and select the Today's Activity Audit log report.
    3. Click  the Run Button. See the image below.




    1. After you clicked the  the Run Button You will see a screen results like th the image below.




    1. Now repeat the steps  to execute the  All Users reports. See the image below.




    1. After you clicked the  Run button the results should appear like the image below.







(0.2) Download Reports



In this step, you are going to login into the The Identity Manager Administrator interface and Download  some reports.
    1. Open a Web browser and type the following address into the address bar:
    1. Enter the User ID and Password

    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page
    2. Scroll down the page and select the All Users report
    3. Click  the Download Button  under the Download CSV Report. See the image below.





    1. After you clicked  the Download Button  a windows open to let you  configure which will be the program that you want to use to  open the report.
    1. Select the program you want to use to open the report and click the OK button.
      • Observe that you can save this report and open it later.



    1. If you selected a spreadsheet program to open the report, you results should look like the image below.




      1. Click  again  on the the Download Button  but under the Download PDF. See the image below.



    1. After you clicked  the Download Button  a windows open to let you  configure which will be the program that you want to use to  open the report.
    1. Select the program you want to use to open the report and click the OK button.





    1. If you selected a Adobe Reader program to open the report, you results should look like the image below.

(0.3) Configure Email Reports



            In this step, you are going to login into the The Identity Manager Administrator interface and Download  some reports.
    1. Open a Web browser and type the following address into the address bar:
    1. Enter the User ID and Password
    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page
    2. Click the All Users Report  under the Report Name Colum. See the image below


    1. The Edit Report page appears (see the image below), scrolldown the page and find the Email Report checkbox button.



    1. Select the Email Report checkbox button.
    2. Complete the Email Recipients textbox button with the configurator@idm.com  see the image below.
      1. This button let you configure the "to" for your email report.
    1.  Click the Run Button




    1.  After you clicked the Run Button  the Report Results page appears.
      1. Observe at this time the email was sent to your email box. In our previos lab we configured our email to be redirected to the notifications.txt file.



  1.  Go to your notifications.txt file and validate the results sent by IDM after you run the report. You results should look like the image below.



Exercise 1: Create User Report


                The goal of this exercise is to let you experience about how to create a reports in the IDM Admin interface.
  1. Create  User Report
  2. Modify Report

(0.1) Create User Report



In this step, you are going to login into the The Identity Manager Administrator interface and execute  some reports.

    1. Open a Web browser and type the following address into the address bar:
    1. Enter the User ID and Password

    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page
    2. Under The report Type Select Identity Manager Report  and Click New Button
    3. Click on User Report. See the image below.




    1. An  Edit a Report page appears.
    2. Complete the report with the next information
    1. Click the Save Button
      • The screen should look like the image below.



    1. After you clicked on the save your report was created in IDM.See the image below.
    2. Click on the Run Button under the report created before. IDM_RPT_My All Users Report


    1. Your results should look like the image below.






(0.2) Modify Report


In this step, you are going to modify the report created to list only users who have the configurator as a Manager.
    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page.
    1. Click the IDM_RPT_My All Users Report   under the Report Name Colum.
    2. The Edit Report page appears. See the image below.
    3. Configure your report to only list the users with Configurator as a Manager
      1. Select the User Manager is Checkbox
      2. Under the Manager textbox write down configurator
    4. Your screen should look like the image below.
    5. Click Save button.




    1. Click the Report tab and select the Run Report Page.
    2. Click the IDM_RPT_My All Users Report   under the Run Button.
    3. Your  results should look like the image below.
