I will be updating the presentation and labs ASAP for the people who
wants to move forward better than usual.
Just
like
other online courses, this course is offered online only. Just to set
the
expectation correctly, there is no real-time webcasting. The
dates specified are mostly for
helping people self-pace themselves.

Software Required
Please install the specific version of JDK and NetBeans mentioned below
for now in order to minimize the possible surprise in running the
sample applications.
- Java Standard Development Kit (JDK™) version 5.0 (download)
- If you already have installed JDK 5.0, you
can skip this.
- The name of the installation file is as following (for JDK 5.0
update x)
- jdk-1_5_0_xx-windows-i586-p.exe (Windows)
- jdk-1_5_0_xx-linux-i586.bin (Linux)
- jdk-1_5_0_xx-solaris-i586.sh (Solaris x86)
- Do not use JDK 6 for now.
- NetBeans (download)
- We will use the version of NetBans 5.5.1
- If you already have installed, you can skip this.
- Sun Java System Identity Manager 7.1 (download)

The sample applications we are going to use are not in the form of
"native" NetBeans projects, which means we will have to build and run
the as "free form" projects. (A "Free form" NetBeans
project is the one that has its own Ant script.
